    49-17T Final Drive Gears - 2.88:1 Final Drive Ratio
    These
    STG
    Performance Final Drive Gears will change your scooter's final drive gear ratio, which can ultimately increase your top speed and acceleration in the top end of your power band. Most final drive gears have a 3.41:1 gear ratio, and these gears will change your final drive gear ratio to 2.88:1.
    These come pre-pressed for your convenience. The install of these component is much easier, and you are no longer restricted if you do not have access to a mechanical press for these gears. It is still advised to confirm that these gears will fit your scooter prior to purchase. You will want to verify that you have a 52-tooth reduction gear in your scooter. If you are interested in pressing your own gears, we have unpressed gears available as well.
    If you have a big bore kit or other performance parts already installed, you may find that you are running well over 8000 RPM's, which will inevitably cause premature engine and bearing failure.
    These gears allow for your scooter to have a much greater top speed without running your RPM's too high!

    has been using these gears for years in their high performance builds, to include the 87cc Big Bore Stroker engines, and have found that the 49-17T gear ratio is the most optimum gear ratio for both acceleration and top speed.
    STG
    found that the 41-17T and 42-16T gears restrict your engine from reaching its peak RPM's, which means that you are not using the full RPM range or potential of your motor. These gears are now used as a much better alternative, as they keep your RPM's within a comfortable range without over-revving, and still provide the desired rapid acceleration.
